In my next three posts I am sharing this writing space with three amazing women, fellow sisters in Christ. These women, all uniquely gifted, share the role of leading my bible study small group each week.

For our first meeting in February, I had the privilege of welcoming them into our home along with the rest of my small group. A beautiful mix of women who take me as I am and speak truth and grace into this messy, joy-filled season of mothering.

We came together to fellowship and to share a special time of praying blessing over our home and family as well as my neighbor Maria’s home. Maria is a part of my small group and recently moved in next door with her husband and young son. Her family moving next door yet another way we have experienced God’s provisions for our family. We are very fortunate to have such amazing neighbors and friends.

Seek And Find

He came into this world in a flurry, less than three hours after my first contraction. Wrestling wild, heart rate unstable, umbilical cord wrapped around his neck three times. He fit into the palm of my husband’s hand with spiked, jet black hair. A sparkle even then, in his sapphire eyes. One mamma’s heart growing one hundred times larger under his gaze.

Fast-forward five years, he is a flurry of endless energy and words, so many words. He is small for his age yet full of life and curiosity. He has a bold and colorful imagination, big smiles for everyone, shinning eyes and spiky golden hair. One can almost palpate his intense love for life and people.

He asked me recently while we were in the car driving, “Mommy, how do you know there is a God?”.

Midnight Prayers

candle_clockLast night I woke a little after one in the morning. I felt restless, my eyes wide open. I sensed a nudge and a voice saying, pray. As I did, my husband tossed and turned next to me. A few minutes later he rose with his pillow in hand, walking out of our bedroom. I went to him and he told me he did not know why but he was unable to sleep. He planned to rest on the couch as not to disturb me.
