Grateful for You

May 9, 2014 by Heather Mitchell 5 Comments

1976H - 02Your name means “Tower”.

This is what you have always been.

A tower of strength, a tower of refuge.

When I need someone to steady me, you were there.

When I need someone to run to, you were there.

You were my quiet strength that never wavered.

You have taught me to love graciously, give generously.

You have taught me the importance of hard work and great sacrifice.

You have taught me to trust in God as my source of strength.

You allowed me to grow and discover my own strength.

Though we are different we are not so different.
I bear your name as well.

Thank you for being my unwavering, steady tower.
For loving and giving of yourself, generously, graciously.

I am Grateful for you. Happy Mother’s Day!

I love you, Mom.

This post is part of Five Minute Friday series. I get the one word prompts from Lisa Jo-Baker on Friday. The rules are simple. Write for five minutes flat. There is no extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation. It is unscripted. Unedited. Real.

Today’s prompt was: Grateful

Stopping by from FMF. What a beautiful tribute to your mom. I love that as we become mothers we realize and appreciate all the things our mothers did for us. Sounds like you have a great mom. Happy Mother’s Day to you too.

What a beautiful tribute to your mom :). When I saw the prompt last night, my mom came to mind, too. We are blessed beyond measure to have wonderful moms!
